Why Maintain a Septic System?

Every septic system needs regular maintenance to work properly and avoid expensive failures and backups.

Septic systems are designed to keep solids from leaving the tank and entering the drain field. But even in the best of systems, tiny organic particles still manage to escape into the field.

Once in the drain field, these particles accumulate and, if left untreated, clog the soil. Therefore, less water is able to leach through the soil. Over time, a neglected system will stop working. Sluggishness, surface breakouts or the complete clogging of the system can result. Once a system is clogged, costly backups can occur in your home.

Replacing clogged drain fields is expensive, usually from $3,000 to $10,000. A failed system can release untreated wastewater, which poses significant health risks and can contaminate well water, groundwater and drinking water sources. A failed system can also lower property value and delay real estate sales.

It just makes sense to avoid system failure and all the problems it brings. To avoid problems with your system, it is necessary to understand how it works. Failure can be caused by:

1. The discharge of solids into the drain field.

2. Too much sludge buildup in the tank.

3. An imbalance in the beneficial bacteria in the tank.

In order to help avoid these problems and maintain your system properly, use Natural-Clean Septic™ regularly. Our product is a proven formulation – the same industrial strength, highly concentrated formula that has been successfully solving problems in cities, towns and restaurants for more than two decades.

Natural-Clean Septic™ contains selected strains of beneficial bacteria that consume organic material, such as grease, detergents, oils and paper, that accumulates in your system. Natural-Clean Septic™ is a very inexpensive solution to potentially costly problems.
